The Cook County Forest Preserve District of IL Uses GFOA YieldAdvantage

to Advance Operating Efficiency

With the goal of advancing operating efficiencies and increasing yields, the Cook County Forest Preserve District of Illinois used GFOA YieldAdvantage, an Internet auction platform offered by the Government Finance Officers Association.

Using GFOA YieldAdvantage, the Cook County Forest Preserve placed a $3.2 million investment. Broker-dealers submitted thirteen offers of agency securities during a live, “sealed” bid auction. The Cook County Forest Preserve awarded Harris Nesbittt the 91-day transaction for its submitted yield of 3.76%. GFOA YieldAdvantage aided the Cook County Forest Preserve in streamlining the investment process.

GFOA YieldAdvantage is a Web-based investment auction platform offered through an alliance of the Government Finance Officers Association and Grant Street Group.  Through the use of GFOA YieldAdvantage, state and local governments are able to solicit bids easily and efficiently from a larger number of financial institutions via the Internet, enhancing the investment of government funds.
